• running on Windows 98 or 2000 because of proprietary application software,
• having 3 serial ports for data transmission and machine control,
• starting and running from a single floppy disk,
• being controlled by a touch screen because of dirty work environment
• and so on

You can not go into any PC-Shop and get those over the counter, they have to be custom built with the final requirements in mind.
